CONGAS
Single headed Afro-Cuban drum popular around
the world. The set of three comprise the quinto [high], conga [middle]
and tumbadora [low]. The drum is played with both hands and is capable
of many sounds which have to be developed before moving to the rhythmic
repertoire. The main sounds employed are: open tone, muffled tone,
open slap, muffled slap, bass tone, fingers and palm.
