The ibo (or udu) by Meinl is designed in the style of the Nigerian side
hole pot drum. The ibo is made from durable fiberglass and not clay
which makes the instrument practically unbreakable and the range includes
two body shapes and three colourful designs. The ibo also incorporates
an additional microphone hole in the shell and comes with a foam padded
base for resting. From deep tones to incredibly sharp finger sounds
the resonance of the ibo is quite remarkable. Whether live or in
the recording studio the ibo tends to complement many musical styles and
it responds beautifully to a variety of world percussion hand techniques.
